This is an advance course for Safety Practitioners & Safety Trainors (Ocupational Saety &/or Environmental Officers).  Attendees must be a Safety Practitioner (officers, supervisors, advisors, trainors, engineers or managers) in the oil and gas or has attended the 5-day Int'l Oil and Gas HSE.

OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION PROCESS, GAS LIQUEFACTION PROCESS (LNG) –

A MUST for Safety Engrs/Officers and for those who would like to know the complex process behind oil and gas production.  This module explains how oil is discovered and extracted. Includes a full and comprehensive discussion of oil, gas, and water separation (two-phase & three-phase), water & gas injection in the oil basin, chemicals used in the process and hazards involved. Understand how oil gets to us from its exploration to the time it is ready for consumption.  See in details the various techniques in the whole operations of the gas recycling system, offshore and onshore.

WORKING ON LIVE PLANT

Learn the techniques in working in flammable atmosphere, including working on tie-ins for live gas lines, live sulfur lines, working on top of propane accumulator and other different critical situation in the plant.

ACCIDENT AND INCIDENT INVESTIGATION – All the worst cases that happened offshore and onshore, BLEVE and disasters. This module covers the steps in investigating and the important data required during investigation. It also introduces the Loss Causation Model. Includes understanding of "near miss or near hit", BSA and STOP implementation.

ANATOMY OF DRILLING RIG- This module covers the intricate engineering process required to drill and complete an oil well. It orients the participants of the basic structure of the equipment which is the same whether it is offshore or onshore.

AUTHORIZED GAS TESTER COURSE – A comprehensive course which includes the inert gases, their use in the operation and its dangers. Understand toxic & flammable gases, operate gas test equipment, interpret readings and take actions based on interpretation.

BREATHING APPARATUS/SCBA  ACTUAL TRAINING & LECTURES

Proper donning/doffing, facepiece fit testing,buddy system,air supply duration, limitations,emergency & safety procedures, maintenance and storage.

BASE FOAM INJECTION FOR ENCLOSED CRUDE TANK –

Learn the engineering design and calculation of base foam injection for GOSP/ CDS plant.  O3G is the only center that offers this very special course for those who want to be more knowledgeable in the GOSP. A powerful presentation only O3G lecturer can design.

CHRISTMAS TREE & TWO BARRIER-RULE

A study of production valve called Christmas tree, its history and parts well explained.  Distinguish oil well head from gas well head.  Learn what is two barrier rule. 

CONFINED SPACE AND VESSEL ENTRY – Defines confined space and vessel entry.  Includes how to rescue and how to work safely, ventilation and inerting, air monitoring. Explains how to make the vessel safe when working inside, what are the expected gas present aside from hydrocarbons? It includes a video of actual work done in confined spaces.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE (INCIDENT COMMAND SYSTEM) - Study the latest  on-scene incident management concept  

ESDs IN PRODUCTION PLATFORM & WELLHEAD TOWERS - Includes ESD1, ESD2, plant trip, blackout, black start, blow down, shutdown, with the latest environmental friendly flaring technique.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER COURSE –How fire extinguisher works and its relation to the triangle of fire, make firewatchers understand the science of fire and how it can be extinguished properly, chemical & mechanical foams and its applications. It also introduces the new concept of fire tetrahedron.

FIREWATER DEMAND FOR GOSP – A complete study of firewater calculation (as per NFPA) for GOSP/CDS which produces 250M BOPD. A plant design technique in fighting inevitable monstrous, disastrous galloping fires.

FLOATING ROOF TANK SAFETY - How floating roof works, identifying the associated hazards and corresponding techniques.  Includes latest technique in tank cleaning.

GTL – Gas To Liquids and HSE.  Learn what is syngas and the conversion of syngas into liquid fuels in a process called Fischer-Thropsch .

HLO COURSE -  (Special Course) A non-ordinary course offered by O3G, this a well defined course intended for those who want to become familiar with the helicopter operations in the platform.  A technique in lifting load by the helicopter to the well head tower, how it is done? How many and who are the people involved?

HELICOPTER ORIENTATION COURSE- Southeast Asia and Middle East style. Familiarization on different life jackets used and the do's and dont's during helicopter transport.

HOT WORK TECHNIQUES IN BOTTLE NECKED & FLAMMABLE ATMOSPHERE - Learn the safe way of executing job without intervening the production. Includes safe house habitat, flame cutting, handling of pyrophoric scales, arresting remaining flammable gases in the pipeline, dangers and sources of static electricity

HYDROGEN SULFIDE (H2S) COURSE – Learn the dangers and how to escape or rescue the injured. It links to a lesson in video for the participants to easily understand

LIFE SAVING EQUIPMENT AND MARINE EQUIPMENT – It covers the International Rules set by SOLAS, ABS, DNV. This module is a complete study of all kinds of breathing apparatus, escape sets, air loop system, gas tester, EPIRB, life boats, life rafts, radiation meters, etc…

LNG PROCESS – Get versed with the LNG Chain from the gas fields to the end users. Learn the LNG hazards and safety considerations.

LSA-NORM, IONIZING RADIATION (X-rays and Gamma Rays) -   How it affects the workers and a full knowledge on the subject. 

MSDS and COSHH - A simple and definitive presentation of the dangerous chemicals used in the oil and gas production, water injection, gas gathering and gas injection. It includes the steps in handling them safely. Learn the NFPA Diamond, its use in RTK labels and HazCom programs.

NOISE HAZARDS - Covers occupational noise, measurement, NRR, noise control methods

OFFSHORE ERGONOMICS - Learn the simple way of ergonomics as brainstormed by the offshore installation managers in the world.

OFFSHORE PLATFORM ORIENTATION - Basic offshore safety orientation, offshore life complete with video.

OIL PLATFORMS & ONSHORE OILFIELDS – A comprehensive introduction to the operation and function of each installation. 

OIL SPILL CALCULATION - Includes the analysis of the latest oil spill in the world. Discussion of the magnitude of the oil spill as well as the latest techniques applied in stopping the oil spills for deep sea drilling.

OZONE DEPLETION & GREENHOUSE GASES - Learn the current techniques being applied by the oil & gas companies in reducing the greenhouse gases.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT - Intensive study of PPE being used in the oil and gas industry.

PIGGING OPERATIONS SAFETY - Learn how it works and be able to discuss during the interview.  What are the techniques applied during pigging operations.  A step by step pig launching operation from nominal gauge pig to intelligent pig.  Familiarize yourself with the technical terms.  Learn the pigging techniques in the oil production & construction. 

PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION – it details the steps in the construction of a pipeline both onshore and offshore.

PIPELINE INTERVENTION, HOT TAPPING - Learn pipeline intervention techniques, which include hot tapping, line stopping and pipe freezing to enable a pipeline, tank or vessel to remain onstream during maintenance, alterations, or system expansions.

PROPANE & BLEVE - Study the worst possible outcome when a tank holding a pressurized liquefied gas, such a propane, fails due to fire contact or impact. 

PTWS and Formal Procedures– Developed in conjunction with international oil companies in the upstream industry. A well explained Permit to Work System from the actual experience of professional HSE Engineer working in the oil & gas production.  It includes an exercise on filling up the PTW form. You will also learn hot work techniques in highly hazardous environment and the different area zone classification. Includes exercises on PTW compliance audit.

PTW Lecturer/Author passed the PTWS provided by the Scottish Qualification Authorization held in the United Arab Emirates.  It is approved examination for gas liquefaction.

RISK ASSESSMENT  - The simple techniques and standard format on how to prepare risk assessment drawn from actual experience and involvement of the Safety Engineers. Relation of semi-quantitative Risk Assessment Matrix (RAM) to risk register.

A separate one day special course is offered for Risk Assessment utilizing the 5x10 RPM.

RISK-BASED HSEMS   - It is a thorough discussion of the HSEMS, where it came from, who designed it, and how to make one. This module includes an elementary explanation of the many standards ( i.e., ISO 14000, ISO 9000, BS8800, OHSAS 18000, OSHA) dealing with HSE as well as the latest system and practices used in the industry. This very informative presentation was made simple for the neophytes and even for the Safety Practitioners in other industries who want to know HSEMS fully. 

SIMOPS HSE AUDIT - Learn the techniques in auditing simultaneous operations on wellhead towers

SIMOPS and ADJACENT ACTIVITIES - Learn the similarity and difference between Simops and adjacent jobs. Learn the risk reduction measures applied in attaining ALARP.

SULFUR PLANT OPERATION & ORIENTATION (SRU) (Exclusive/Separate certificate)

Learn the SRU in gas liquefaction plant on how it affects the environment.  Introduction to claus and super claus, AGRU systems. Special model of waste heat boiler, condenser, burner model for easy understanding.

OFFSHORE ONSHORE OIL & GAS DRILLING HSE COURSE

This module covers the intricate engineering process required to drill and complete an oil well. It orients the participants of the basic structure of the equipment which is the same whether offshore or onshore.  It is a very comprehensive discussion of the following:

• Anatomy of a drilling rig  (includes all components of drilling operations & people involved)

• Site preparation (excavation & trenching)

• Setting up the rig to rigging down

• Drilling process (includes perforating)

• Tripping out/in

• Casing & Cementing Operations (illustrates the concept of casing string design, proper handling of pipe while it is on the rack, being picked up, made up into a string, and cemented in the hole)

• Well Completions & Well control (includes blowouts & BOPs)

• Plugging and abandoning of wells

    HSE problems encountered in each step (includes H2S) of the drilling process is discussed and provided with possible solutions.  Several drilling accidents are discussed. Includes a Rig Pass Orientation Test.

Participants can attend a minimum of 3-days with certificate of attendance and a supplementary certificate detailing the HSE modules attended.  After completing the course a replacement of certificate of success will be issued after examination.
